Knowledge<\/p>\n<p>The\u202fcompetences\u202fof\u202fthe\u202fshiatsu\u202fpractitioner\u202finclude,\u202fdepending\u202fon\u202fthe\u202fspecific\u202fshiatsu\u202fstyle,<br \/>\nthe\u202ffollowing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Philosophical and theoretical aspects of the\u202fEast Asian health framework and their significance for the Shiatsu work<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the dependence of the practitioner&#8217;s attitude and its effect on the client<br \/>\nThe concept of Yin &amp; Yang<\/li>\n<li>Systems of meridians and the psychic and physical functions of meridians<\/li>\n<li>The Five Elements and their dynamics<\/li>\n<li>The Hara and back areas<\/li>\n<li>The theory of\u202fKyo\u202f&amp;\u202fJitsu<\/li>\n<li>Yu and\u202fBo points<\/li>\n<li>History, theories, and systems of Shiatsu (for example the roots of Shiatsu and the various Shiatsu styles)<\/li>\n<li>Anatomic and physiological fundamentals in relation to contents specific to Shiatsu<br \/>\nPathways of meridians<\/li>\n<li>Localisation of\u202fTsubos\u202for points<\/li>\n<li>Functions of the organs according to East Asian theories<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of Ki<\/li>\n<li>Characteristics of\u202fTsubos\/points<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Thenational\u202fshiatsu\u202fassociations\u202fdefine\u202fthe\u202fprofessional\u202fprofile\u202fof\u202fshiatsu\u202fand\u202fcompetences,<br \/>\nwhich\u202fhave\u202fto be \u202fgained\u202fin\u202fthe\u202ftraining.<br \/>\nThey\u202fsupportand\u202fguarantee\u202fthe\u202fquality\u202fof\u202ftheir\u202fmembers\u202fby\u202fdemanding\u202fadequate\u202fstandars<br \/>\nparticularly respect\u202foft he\u202fcode\u202fof\u202fethic.<\/p>\n<p>2. Competences<\/p>\n<p>The shiatsu student has learned the importance to be internally and externally focused and centred during the duration\u202fof the contact with the client.<\/p>\n<p>Encounter<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communicate with the client in an\u202fadequate\u202fmanner<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the reasons for coming, the client&#8217;s requirements and wishes in relation to Shiatsu<\/li>\n<li>Potentially\u202frecognise and identify existing resources\u202fwith the client<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the treatment in relation to the Five Elements<\/li>\n<li>Inform adequately about the fundamental aspects of East Asian philosophy in Shiatsu.<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the treatment style and possible treatment procedures with the client<\/li>\n<li>Discuss possible holistic approaches within the Shiatsu method and collect the client&#8217;s consent<\/li>\n<li>Discuss the treatment position, his\/her limits with regard to touch, and aspects of clothing<\/li>\n<li>Perform a Shiatsu specific energetic evaluation on the basis of conversation, observation and palpation of the energetic areas<\/li>\n<li>Master and\u202fcombine\u202fthe Shiatsu specific methods of assessment, for example:<br \/>\no Bo\u202fShin<br \/>\no Mon\u202fShin<br \/>\no Bun\u202fShin<br \/>\no Setsu\u202fShin<br \/>\no Evaluation in the\u202fHara and on the back<br \/>\no Kyo\u202f&amp;\u202fJitsu<br \/>\no Yu and Bo points<\/li>\n<li>Plan the treatment on the basis of the Shiatsu specific energetic evaluation and the assessments and wishes collected through the conversation\u202f.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the treatment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conscious application of techniques of the inner focus, in order to interact and resonate with the client and his\/her process:<br \/>\no non-judgemental\u202fattitude<br \/>\no unintentional attitude\/relaxed focused<br \/>\no mindfulness<\/li>\n<li>Centeredness: axis between heaven and earth\/contact with the spine and\/or hara\u202f\/ presence in his own space of\u202f his\u202f body<\/li>\n<li>Treatment in mindful connection with the energetic process<\/li>\n<li>Techniques of\u202feasy move around the client,\u202fi.e\u202fflowing, continuous movement and touch<\/li>\n<li>Shiatsu specific positions, treatment techniques and procedures:<\/li>\n<li>Positioning of the client:<br \/>\no prone, supine, side position on the\u202ffuton and\/or\u202ftable<br \/>\no sitting position, either on the futon\u202fand\/or the chair<\/li>\n<li>Shiatsu specific body postures and movements with eventually floating transitions<\/li>\n<li>Techniques: work with mother hand\/working hand, palms, thumb, fingers, knees and elbows perpendicular to the body<\/li>\n<li>Stretches, rotations, mobilisations<\/li>\n<li>Treatment of the meridian<\/li>\n<li>Shiatsu specific quality of touch<\/li>\n<li>Deep contact<\/li>\n<li>Structure and procedure of a Shiatsu treatment on the basis of an energetic assessment,<\/li>\n<li>Integration of the experiences on the level of the body, soul and mind through the treatment of the meridians under consideration of their functions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Integration during the treatment<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Continuous adaptation of the Shiatsu specific energetic assessment to the process caused by the treatment.<\/li>\n<li>Use of the meditative calm and the self-awareness for the shiatsu process and to be present with the client this to enable him to listen inside and encounter himself.<\/li>\n<li>Assist the client in order to experience a conscious perception of the balancing effects which take place unconsciously in Shiatsu and to verbalise them, if necessary, so to bring existing unconscious resources into awareness and utilize them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Transfer<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Follow\u202fthe\u202fenergetic process with the client<\/li>\n<li>Conversation with the client in order to exchange what both sides have assessed from the situation of the ailments in relation to the Five Elements theory and \/or function of the meridians<\/li>\n<li>\u202fanalogies, pictures, visualisations in connection with Yin &amp; Yang and the Five Elements<\/li>\n<li>Create new resources in relation to the energetic experiences through the conversation with the client<\/li>\n<li>Sustain the client finding a healthy lifestyle.<\/li>\n<li>Transmit Shiatsu specific body exercises:<br \/>\no Exercises to stretch the meridians<br \/>\no Do In<br \/>\no Simple exercises<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Attitude<\/p>\n<p>The Shiatsu practitioner is internally and externally focused and centred, respects the client&#8217;s life style.\u202f He\/ She is aware of his\/her own personality and own resources.<\/p>\n<p>Paris, May 2017<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1.
